Infant Removals In Scotland



Why are so many children in Scotland being taken from their mothers at birth or early in their lives? All Hail To The Pod speaks to mothers whose children have been removed and researchers investigating the situation.

Maggie Mellon hosts this episode of the Pod and is joined by Talia and Steph, two mothers who have had children taken from them by the state. We also hear from two researchers, Lorraine Waterhouse and Janice McGhee, who have both worked on child welfare and the welfare of mothers caught up in this situation for many years and are concerned by what is happening in Scotland.

Michael Collins is from Glasgow and currently Strategic Policy and Planning Director at the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City.
